America's cup victory parade

All Metro bus routes will be running as usual during the America’s Cup victory parade on Wednesday 12 July, except for a small detour on route 17 in the central city.

With several road closures and no available parking on the parade route, bussing will be a great way to access the central city.

These routes will take you all the way to the bus interchange, the starting point of the parade:
- Blue Line
- Orange Line
- Purple Line
- Yellow Line
- Routes 17, 28, 29, 44, 60, 80, 95

If you’re not sure which route is most convenient for you, have a look at our journey planner or call our Metroinfo team on 03 366 88 55.

Due to the road closures we expect some delays around the central city from 9am to 3pm so please calculate with some extra time when you are planning your trip.

The parade will start at 12 midday at the corner of Colombo and Tuam Streets (next to the bus interchange).  It will head north along Colombo Street before turning left into Hereford Street and right into Montreal Street. The parade will finish at the Christchurch Art Gallery with a formal welcome and speeches. Twenty-five members of the team will be taking part in the parade which will feature other entertainment.
