New year changes for the Orbiter

Two changes to the Orbiter route will be implemented from Monday 7 January 2019.

The new Orbiter timetable, effective 7 Jan 2019, is available here, and maps outlining the new route and bus stop changes are below. You can find the large print timetable here.

  1. The Orbiter will reroute to travel via Cranford Street, instead of taking its current route down Philpotts Road. This change is due to road layout changes as part of the Northern Corridor Project, read morehere.
  2. The Orbiter will reroute to continue along Waimairi Road to Greers Road, no longer travelling down Homestead Lane and Ilam Road. This change is due to it no longer being possible for buses to use Homestead Lane (a private road owned by the University) from early 2019, due to upcoming construction along the road.
