Buses travelling westbound towards Hillmorton will follow the normal route to Rookwood Ave, take the 1^st exit at the Bowhill Rd rdbt, onto Bowhill Rd, turn right on Palmers Rd, turn right on Bower Ave, take the 1^st exit at the Travis Rd rdbt, onto Travis Rd to resume the normal route.

Buses travelling eastbound towards Southshore will follow the normal route to Travis Rd, take the 1^st exit at the Bower Ave rdbt, onto Bower Ave, turn right on Saltaire St, turn right on Marriotts Rd, and turn left on Rookwood Ave to resume the normal route.

From Monday 8^th June there will be extended road works on Waterloo Rd that will require the Route 5 service to detour from its usual route until further notice.

Buses travelling westbound towards Rolleston will follow the normal route to Waterloo Rd, turn right on Barters Rd, turn left on Maddisons Rd, turn left on Kirk Rd and turn right on Railway Tce to resume the normal route.

Morning trips travelling towards Upper Riccarton will follow the normal route to Kirk Rd, continue on Kirk Rd, turn right on Maddisons Rd, turn right on Barters Rd, and turn left on Waterloo Rd to resume the normal route.

Afternoon trips travelling towards Burnham will follow the normal route to Waterloo Rd, turn left on Pound Rd, turn right on SH1 Main South Rd, turn right on Kirk Rd, and turn left on Railway Tce to resume the normal route.

Afternoon trips travelling towards Queenspark will follow the normal route to Mairehau Rd, turn right on Putake Rd, take the 1^st exit at the Rothesay Rd rdbt, take the 2^nd exit at the Pohutukawa Cres rdbt, turn right on Burwood Rd, continue on Prestons Rd, turn left on Prestons Park Dr, take the 2^nd exit at the Katrine Dr rdbt, take the 2^nd exit at the Aviemore Dr rdbt, take the second exit at the Georgina St rdbt, and turn right on Mairehau Rd to resume the normal route.

From Thursday 7^th May there will be road works on Wairakei Rd that will require the Route 8 service to detour from its usual route until further notice.

Buses travelling southbound towards Lyttelton will follow the normal route to Harewood Rd, continue on Harewood Rd, turn right on Breens Rd, and turn left on Wairakei Rd to resume the normal route.

Buses travelling northbound towards the Airport will not be impacted.

From Monday 12th January there will be Stop/Go traffic controls in place on Centaurus Rd near Kowhai Tce to facilitate sewer renewal works that will impact the Orbiter service.

Unfortunately, there is no suitable detour for heavy vehicles in this area so delays to certain trips may occur.
