From Tuesday 17th February for 2 days there will be road works on Staveley St that will require the Route 130 service to detour from its usual route. 

Buses travelling northbound towards Avonhead will follow the normal route to Staveley St, right on to Colina St, left on to Maidstone Rd, left on to Withells Rd and take the 3rd exit at the roundabout on to Staveley St to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling southbound will not be impacted by these works.

On Tuesday 17th February for 1 night there will be road works on Nayland St that will require the Route 3 service to detour from its usual route between 7pm until 6am. 

Buses travelling westbound towards the Airport/Sheffield Cres will follow the normal route to Nayland St, turn left on to Hardwicke St, right on to Wiggins St, right on to Wakefield Ave and continue on Wakefield Ave to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling eastbound towards Sumner will follow the normal route to Wakefield Ave, continue on Wakefield Ave, turn left on to Wiggins St, left on to Menzies St and right on to Nayland St to resume the normal route.

A rockfall along the Main Road to Sumner has resulted in stop/go works which will impact Route 3 buses.

Traffic conditions will affect journey times and bus frequencies.

From Monday 16th February on weekdays only there will be road works in New Brighton that will require the Route 5 service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Buses travelling westbound towards Rolleston will follow the normal route to Jones Rd, take the 1st exit at the roundabout on to Weedons Ross Rd, take the second exit at the Weedons Interchange roundabout on to the Overbridge, take the 2nd exit at the Weedons Interchange roundabout on to SH1 Main South Rd and turn left on to Rolleston Drive to resume the normal route.

Buses travelling eastbound towards New Brighton will follow the normal route to SH1 Main South Rd, continue on to Christchurch Southern Motorway, take the 1st exit off the motorway, take the 1st exit at the Weedons Ross Rd roundabout and the 3rd exit at the Jones Rd roundabout to resume the normal route.

From Monday 16^th February for 28 days there will be road works on Railway Tce that will require the Route 5 service to detour from its usual route.

Buses travelling westbound towards Rolleston will follow the normal route to Banks St, turn right on Kirk Rd, turn left on Maddisons Rd, turn left on Dawsons Rd, take the 2^nd exit at the Dawsons Rd roundabout onto Jones Rd to resume the normal route.

Buses travelling eastbound towards New Brighton will follow the normal route to Jones Rd, continue on Dawsons Rd, take the 1^st exit at the SH1 Main South Road roundabout onto SH1 Main North Rd, and turn left on Kirk Rd to resume the normal route.

On Saturday 14th February for 1 day there will be road closures in New Brighton that will require the Route 60 service to detour from its usual route from 9am until last bus. 

Buses travelling eastbound towards Southshore will follow the normal route to Keyes Rd, turn right on to Hawke St, take the first exit at the roundabout on to Seaview Rd, right on to Hardy St, left on to Beresford St and right on to Oram Ave to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling westbound towards Hillmorton will start trips from Oram Ave as normal, turn left on to Beresford St, right on to Hardy St, left on to Seaview Rd, take the 4th exit at the roundabout on to Hawke St and turn left on to Keyes Rd to resume the normal route.

From Monday 2^nd February there will be road works on Athelstan St that will require the Route 60 service to detour from its usual route.

Buses travelling eastbound towards Southshore will follow the normal route to Frankleigh St, and continue on Milton St to resume the normal route.

Buses travelling westbound towards Hillmorton will not be impacted.

From Tuesday 6th January there will be road works on Estuary Rd that will require the Route 60 service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Buses travelling eastbound towards Southshore will follow the normal route along Estuary Rd, take the first exit at the roundabout on to Bridge St, turn right on to Pine Ave, veer left to stay on Pine Ave and continue on Rockinghorse Rd to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling westbound towards Hillmorton will not be impacted.

Buses travelling eastbound towards New Brighton will follow the normal route to Marine Pde, turn right on to Bowhill Rd, take the first exit at the roundabout on to Keyes Rd, turn right on to Hawke St, take the first exit at the roundabout on to Seaview Rd, right on to Hardy St, left on to Beresford St and right on to Oram Ave to terminate on Oram Ave as normal.

From Friday 6^th February there will be road works on Marine Pde that will require the Route 135 service to detour from its usual route until further notice.

Buses travelling eastbound towards New Brighton will follow the normal route to Marine Pde, turn right on Bowhill Rd, take the 1^st exit at the Keyes Rd roundabout, turn left on Hawke St, take the 2^nd exit at the Shaw Ave roundabout, and turn right on Marine Pde to resume the normal route.

Buses travelling westbound towards The Palms will not be impacted.

Update Feb 4th 3.45pm 

A rockfall along the Main Road to and from Sumner has resulted in stop/go works which will impact the timeliness of the Route 665 school service.

From Tuesday 10^th February for 11 days there will be road works on Centaurus Rd that will require the Orbiter service to detour from its usual route.

Buses travelling clockwise will follow the normal route to Wilsons Rd Sth, continue on Wilsons Rd Sth, take the 3^rd exit at the Centaurus Rd roundabout, and turn left to stay on Centaurus Rd and resume the normal route.

Buses travelling anti-clockwise will have no detour required.

From Monday 26^th January there will be road works on Greers Rd that will require the Orbiter service to detour from its usual route until further notice.

Buses travelling clockwise will follow the normal route to Waimairi Rd, continue on Waimairi Rd, take the 3^rd exit at the Grahams Rd roundabout, continue on Grahams Rd, turn right on Guildford St, and turn left on Greers Rd to resume the normal route.

Buses travelling anti-clockwise will follow the normal route to Greers Rd, turn right on Memorial Ave, turn left on Grahams Rd, continue on Grahams Rd, take the 1st exit at the Waimairi Rd roundabout, and continue on Waimairi Rd to resume the normal route.

From Monday 12th January there will be Stop/Go traffic controls in place on Centaurus Rd near Kowhai Tce to facilitate sewer renewal works that will impact the Orbiter service

Unfortunately, there is no suitable detour for heavy vehicles in this area so delays to certain trips may occur.

Works are expected to be completed in April.

Buses travelling eastbound towards The Palms will start the trip from the temporary stop on Glovers Rd, turn right on Kennedys Bush Rd, take the 3^rd exit at Whites Tramway Rd roundabout, take the 3^rd exit at the SH75 Halswell Rd roundabout, and continue on SH75 Halswell Rd to resume the normal route.

From Tuesday 10th February for 7 days there will be road works on Factory Rd that will require the Route 1 service to detour from its usual route.

Buses travelling southbound towards PMH & Cashmere will start the rip from layover point – Stop #53365, turn right on Tyrone St, turn right on Third St, and turn left on SH74M Main North Road to resume the normal route.

Buses travelling northbound towards Belfast will not be impacted.

There will be several closed and temporary bus stops along Halswell Rd due to the road improvements currently underway and estimated to take two and a half years. These will impact Route 7 passengers as well as some other routes that use Halswell Rd.

Please take note of the signs installed by contractors at the closed stops, directing you to the nearest stop/temporarily placed stop. Allow for additional time to get to your stop in case stops have been moved as the road works progress.
