All detours and updates

On Sunday 21st April there will be road closures for the Christchurch Marathon that will require the Route 95 service to detour from its usual route from first bus until 1.30pm. 

Buses travelling northbound towards Pegasus & Waikuku will follow the normal route along Manchester St (BUS ONLY access) before turning left on to Bealey Ave and right on to Papanui Rd to resume the normal route. Some delays may occur. 

Buses travelling southbound towards City will not be impacted by this detour due to BUS ONLY access at Manchester St. Some delays may occur.

From Tuesday 20th February there will be road works on Tram Rd that will require the Route 95 Express service to detour from its usual route until further notice.

Buses travelling northbound towards Pegasus will follow the normal route to Main North Rd, continue right along Main North Rd before turning left on to Ohoka Rd to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling southbound towards City/Ara will be unaffected by this detour.

From 2nd April until early June there are road works in place at the Cashmere Rd/Colombo St/Dyers Pass Rd roundabout as safety upgrades commence.

From Monday 12th February at 10.30am, there will be a no entry on Smith Street in Kaiapoi for major piping works that will require the Route 1 to detour from its usual route until further notice.

The southbound trip travelling to Cashmere will follow the normal route to Smith Street before turning right onto Charles Street, taking the third exit at the Williams Street roundabout onto Williams Street, before continuing on Williams Street to resume normal route.

The northbound trip travelling to Rangiora will not be affected by these works.

Buses travelling southbound towards Lyttelton will follow the normal route along Carlton Mill Rd before merging on to Bealey Ave, turn right on to Victoria St, left on to Salisbury St and right on to Manchester St (BUS ONLY access) to resume the normal route. Some delays may occur.

Buses travelling southbound towards Huntsbury will not be impacted by this detour due to BUS ONLY access at Manchester St. Some delays may occur.

From Sunday 14th April for 22 nights there will be road works on Harper Ave that will require the Route 29 service to detour from its usual route between the hours of 8pm to 6am. 

Buses travelling westbound to the Bus Interchange will follow the normal route along Fendalton Rd before turning left on to Holmwood Rd, right on to Rossall St, continue on Carlton Mill Rd and Bealey Ave before turning left on to Victoria St to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling westbound towards the Airport will not be affected by this detour.

There are several closed stops along Memorial Ave due to the water main upgrades currently taking place and estimated to continue until May. These are currently impacting Route 29 passengers travelling both directions.

Please take note of the signs installed by the contractors at the closed stops, directing you to the nearest stop/temporarily placed stop. 

Due to the stops opening/closing or being relocated throughout different stages of the work, we are unfortunately unable to update with every bus stop change so we recommend arriving within plenty of time to your stop in case you are directed to walk to the next stop. 

Please safely signal to your driver when they approach, especially if visibility is restricted. We apologise for any inconvenience.

From Tuesday 20th February there will be road works on Manchester St that will require the Route 44 service to detour from its usual route until further notice.

Buses travelling northbound towards Shirley will follow the normal route to Manchester St before turning right on to Salisbury St, left on to Madras St and right on to Bealey Ave to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling southbound towards Westmorland will be unaffected by this detour.

From Wednesday 17th April there will be road works on Banks St in Templeton that will require the Route 5 westbound service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Buses travelling westbound towards Rolleston will follow the normal route to Waterloo Rd before turning right on to Kirk Rd and left on to Railway Tce to resume the normal route.  

Buses travelling eastbound towards New Brighton will not be impacted by this detour.

From Thursday 18th April there will be roadworks on Springston Rolleston Rd that will require the Route 85 westbound service to detour from its usual route for 9 days.

Buses travelling westbound towards Rolleston will follow the normal route along Tennyson St before taking the third exit at the roundabout on to Lowes Rd, turn left on to Broadlands Dr and take the third exit at the roundabout on to Goulds Rd to resume the normal route.  

Buses travelling eastbound will not be impacted.

From Saturday 13th April there will be roadworks on Springston Rolleston Rd that will require the Route 85 service to detour from its usual route. 

Buses travelling westbound towards Rolleston will follow the normal route along Tennyson St before taking the third exit at the roundabout on to Lowes Rd, turn left on to Broadlands Dr and take the third exit at the roundabout on to Goulds Rd to resume the normal route.  

Buses travelling eastbound towards City will follow the normal route along Goulds Rd before taking the first exit at the roundabout on to Broadlands Dr, turn right on to Lowes Rd and take the first exit at the roundabout on to Springston Rolleston Rd to resume the normal route.

From Tuesday 9th April there will be road works on Bower Ave that require the Route 653 school service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Morning trips will not be affected by this detour. 

Afternoon trips will start from QEⅡ Park instead of Travis Rd (AGHS & SBHS) before continuing along Mark Treffers Dr, turn left on to Bower Ave, left on to Ascot Ave, left on to Beach Rd, left on to Frosts Rd and take the third exit at the roundabout on to Travis Rd to resume the normal route.

From Tuesday 9th April there will be road works on Bower Ave that require the Route 668 school service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Morning trips travelling towards Avonside Girls High School and Shirley Boys High School will follow the normal route along Travis Rd before turning left on to Jaynie Parkhouse Dr to terminate at QEII Park. 

Afternoon trips travelling towards Spencerville will follow the normal route to Mark Treffers Dr, before turning left on to Bower Ave, take the first exit at the roundabout on to Beach Rd, turn right on to Frosts Rd and take the third exit at the roundabout on to Travis Rd to resume the normal route.

From Tuesday 9th April there will be road works on Bower Ave that require the Route 664, 665 and 666 afternoon school services to detour from their usual routes until further notice. 

Morning trips will not be affected by this detour. 

Afternoon trips will start from Travis Rd (AGHS & SBHS) with assistance from contractors at the site, turn right on to Wattle Dr, left on to Sandy Ave and right on to Bower Ave to resume the normal route.

From Tuesday 9th April there will be road works on Bower Ave that require the Route 661, 663 and 667 afternoon school services to detour from their usual routes until further notice. 

Morning trips will not be affected by this detour. 

Afternoon trips will start from QEII Park instead of Travis Rd (AGHS & SBHS) before continuing along Mark Treffers Dr and turning left on to Bower Ave to resume the normal route.

From Tuesday 20th February there will be road works on Manchester St that will require the Route 661 PM school service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

The morning trip travelling towards Avonside Girls High School and Shirley Boys High School will not be affected by this detour. 

The afternoon trip travelling towards the City will follow the normal route to Bealey Ave before turning right on to Colombo St, left on to Salisbury St and right on to Manchester St to resume the normal route.

From Tuesday 16th April for 2 days there will be road works on Madeley Rd that will require the Route 140 service to detour from its usual route between the hours of 7am to 6pm. 

Buses travelling westbound towards Russley will follow the normal route along Mt Pleasant Rd before turning right on to Belleview Tce and veering right on to Major Hornbrook Rd to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling eastbound towards Mt Pleasant will not be affected by this detour.

From Tuesday 9th April there will be road works on Bower Ave that will require the Route 791 and 792 school services to detour from their usual routes until further notice. 

Morning trips travelling towards Marion College/Burnside High School will follow the normal route along Bower Ave before taking the third exit at the roundabout on to Beach Rd, turn left on to Frosts Rd before taking the third exit at the roundabout on to Travis Rd to resume the normal route. 

Afternoon trips travelling towards Te Korari St will follow the normal route along Travis Rd before taking the first exit at the roundabout on to Frosts Rd, turn right on to Beach Rd and take the first exit at the roundabout on to Bower Ave to resume the normal route.

From Tuesday 26th March for 3 weeks there will be road works on Langdons Rd that will require the Route 791 school service to detour from its usual route.

Morning trips travelling towards Burnside High will follow the normal route along Langdons Rd before turning left on to Chapel St, right on to Harewood Rd and left on to Greers Rd to resume the normal route. 

Afternoon trips towards Te Korari St will follow the normal route along Greers Rd before turning right on to Harewood Rd, left on to Chapel St and right on to Langdons Rd to resume the normal route.

Morning trips travelling towards Mairehau High School will follow the normal route along Bower Ave before turning right on to Palmers Rd, left on to Bowhill Rd, take the first exit at the roundabout on to Rookwood Ave, turn right on to Marriotts Rd and right on to Bower Ave to resume the normal route. 

Afternoon trips travelling towards Wainoni Rd will follow the normal route along Bower Ave, turn left on to Marriotts Rd, left on to Rookwood Ave, take the third exit at the roundabout on to Bowhill Rd, turn right on to Palmers Rd and left on to Bower Ave to resume the normal route.

From Tuesday 9th April there will be road works on Bower Ave that will require the Route 653 school service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Morning trips travelling towards Haeata Campus will follow the normal route along Bower Ave before turning left on to Marriotts Rd, left on to Rookwood Ave, take the third exit at the roundabout on to Bowhill Rd, right on to Palmers Rd and left on to Bower Ave to resume the normal route. 

Afternoon trips travelling towards Southshore will follow the normal route along Bower Ave before turning right on to Palmers Rd, left on to Bowhill Rd, take the first exit at the roundabout on to Rookwood Ave, turn right on to Marriotts Rd and right on to Bower ave to resume the normal route.

From Tuesday 9th April there will be road works on Bower Ave that will require the Route 80 service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Buses travelling westbound towards Lincoln will follow the normal route along Bower Ave, turn left on to Marriotts Rd, left on to Rookwood Ave, take the third exit at the roundabout on to Bowhill Rd, turn right on to Palmers Rd and left on to Bower Ave to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling eastbound towards Parklands will follow the normal route along Bower Ave before turning right on to Palmers Rd, left on to Bowhill Rd, take the first exit at the roundabout on to Rookwood Ave, turn right on to Marriotts Rd and right on to Bower Ave to resume the normal route.

From Monday 8th April for 17 days there will be road works on Gardiners Rd that will require the Route 107 service to detour from its usual route. 

Buses travelling northbound towards Styx Mill will follow the normal route to Gardiners Rd, turn right on to Claridges Rd, take the first exit at the roundabout on to Highsted Rd, turn left on to Styx Mill Rd and right on to Gardiners Rd to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling southbound towards Northlands Mall will not be affected by this detour.

From Monday 8th April for 3 weeks there will be road works on Greers Rd that will require the Route 130 AM trip servicing Burnside High (arr. 8.05am) to detour from its usual route. 

The trip travelling northbound Burnside High will continue straight at the roundabout on Grahams Rd before turning right on to Memorial Ave to terminate at stop #32360 Burnside High School. 

No other trips are impacted by this detour.

From Monday 8th April for 3 weeks there will be road works on Greers Rd that will require the Orbiter clockwise service to detour from its normal route. 

Buses travelling clockwise will continue along Waimairi Rd before taking the third exit at the roundabout on to Grahams Rd, turn right on to Memorial Ave and left on to Greers Rd to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling anti-clockwise will not be affected by this detour.

From Monday 12th February there will be road works on Stanmore Rd that will require the Route 60 service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Buses travelling eastbound towards Southshore will follow the normal route along Hereford St before turning left on to Fitzgerald Ave, right on to Gloucester St and left on to Stanmore Rd to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling westbound towards Hillmorton will be unaffected by this detour however westbound stop #53562 Stanmore Rd near Worcester St is closed.

From Monday 8th January there will be road works on Ilam Rd that will require the Route 3 service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Buses travelling westbound towards the Airport/Sheffield Crescent will follow the normal route to Riccarton Rd before turning right on to Clyde Rd, left on to Creyke Rd and continue on to Maidstone Rd to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling eastbound towards Sumner will not be affected by these works.

From Monday 8th January there will be road works on Ilam Rd that will require the Route 100 service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Buses travelling eastbound towards The Palms will follow the normal route to Riccarton Rd before turning left on to Waimairi Rd, continuing on Waimairi Rd, right on to Maidstone Rd and continue on to Creyke Rd to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling westbound towards Wigram will not be affected by these works.
