Metro's public transport fares are changing on Monday 7 July.
Changes will impact the way the Under 25 concession is currently structured. If you're aged 5-18, you'll be eligible for a Child concession, and if you're aged 19-24 years, you'll be eligible for a Youth concession.
Child and Youth fares will be different. If you have a Community Services Card, we highly encourage you to add your CSC onto your Metrocard to access the best fares.

Customers aged 5-18 years (inclusive) should automatically get access to the Child concession when paying with a Metrocard.
When the customer turns 19, their Metrocard will automatically update to a Youth Fare, so if they are eligible for another concession, they must apply for it then.
If you (or your child) are not getting this fare, the date of birth may be incorrect in our system. Please contact us in this case.
How to access the Child Fare Metrocard concession
When applying for a Metrocard, we need to see some identification with the name and date of birth of the new Metrocard holder.
It's that simple - from then on, the age-related concession should apply when tapping the Metrocard on the bus or ferry.
When the customer turns 19, their Metrocard will automatically update to a Youth Fare.
All concession fares are only available on a Metrocard, you can’t access this fare when paying with cash. We do have a different child fare when paying with cash, but the Metrocard child fare is still cheapest.
How to use your concession
Once you have your Metrocard sorted, just tap it when you board the bus or ferry. The Child Fare will automatically be deducted.
How much it costs
You can see the cost of the Child concession fare via the link below. Daily and weekly fare caps will also apply for your Metrocard.

Proof of age
Any passenger who is eligible for age-related fares (either paying by Metrocard or cash) may be required to provide proof of age identification to the driver. Accepted identification needs to include a photo and state the person's date of birth - for example, a Cando card, school ID card or a driver licence. Failure to provide identification to the driver when asked can result in an adult fare being charged.
