All detours and updates

From Thursday 22nd May there will be a permanent road layout change on Halswell Junction Rd that will impact Route 5 trips. 

Buses travelling westbound towards Rolleston will follow the normal route to Halswell Junction Rd before veering left to stay on Halswell Junction Rd and continue on Waterloo Rd to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling eastbound towards New Brighton will follow the normal route to Waterloo Rd, continue on Halswell Junction Rd and veer left to stay on Halswell Junction Rd to resume the normal route. 

There are two new stops installed on Halswell Junction Rd. Find out if your stop is affected by viewing the adjusted route map.

On Sunday 18th May for 4 nights there will be road closures on Halswell Junction Rd that will cause the route 5 service to detour from its usual route from 7pm until 9am. 

Buses traveling westbound towards Rolleston will continue the normal route to Chalmers St (Hornby Mall), turn left on to Main South Rd, turn left on to Carmen Rd, turn left on to Waterloo Rd, continue along Waterloo Rd to resume the normal route.  

Buses traveling eastbound towards New Brighton will continue the normal route to Waterloo Rd, continue along Waterloo Rd, turn right on to Carmen Rd, turn right on to Chalmers St, to resume the normal route.  

Several stops will be affected during this detour.

On Friday 16th May there will be roadworks on Halswell Junction Rd that will cause the route 5 service to detour from its usual route from 8pm until further notice.  

Buses traveling westbound towards Rolleston will continue the normal route to SH1 Main South Rd, turn right onto Parker St, turn left on to Waterloo Rd, continue along Waterloo Rd to resume the normal route.  

Buses traveling eastbound towards Hornby will continue the normal route to Waterloo Rd, continue on Waterloo Rd, turn right on to Parker St, turn left on to SH1 Main South Rd to resume the normal route.

On Sunday 18th May for 8 nights there will be road closures on Antigua St that will require the Route 120 service to detour from its usual route between the hours of 8pm until the last bus. 

Buses travelling southbound towards Spreydon will follow the normal route to Disraeli St, continue along Disraeli St, turn right onto Monreal St, turn right on to Brougham St, and continue along Brougham St to resume the normal route. 

 Buses traveling northbound will not be impacted by this detour.

On Monday 19th May there will be road closures on Milton St that will cause the route 641 school service to detour from its usual route until further notice.  

Buses traveling in the AM towards Cashmere High School will continue the normal route to Milton St, turn right on to Strickland St, turn left on to Bletsoe Ave, turn left on to Selwyn St, turn right on to Milton St to resume the normal route.  

Buses traveling in the PM towards Woolston will not be impacted by this detour.

On Monday 19th May there will be road closures on Milton St that will cause the route 44 service to detour from its usual route until further notice.  

Buses traveling southbound towards Westmorland will continue the normal route to Milton St, turn right on to Strickland St, turn left on to Bletsoe Ave, turn left on to Selwyn St, turn right on to Milton St to resume the normal route.  

Buses traveling northbound towards Shirley will not be impacted by this detour.

On Sunday 18th May for 4 nights there will be road closures on Parker St that will cause the route 130 service to detour from its usual route from 7pm until 9am the next day. 

Buses traveling southbound towards Hei Hei will continue the normal route to Gilberthorpes Rd, turn left on to Waterloo Rd, turn right on to Carmen Rd, turn right on to Chalmers Street to resume the normal route.  

Buses traveling northbound towards Avonhead will continue the normal route to Chalmers St, turn left on to Main South Rd, turn left on to Carmen Rd, turn left on to Waterloo Rd, turn right on to Gilberthorpes Rd to resume the normal route.

On Monday 19th May there will be roadworks on Halswell Junction Rd that will cause the route 673 school service to detour from its usual route until further notice.  

Buses traveling in the afternoons towards Rolleston will continue the normal route to SH1 Main South Rd, turn right onto Parker St, turn left on to Waterloo Rd, continue along Waterloo Rd to resume the normal route.  

Buses traveling in the AM will not be impacted by this detour.

On Monday 28th of April there will be road closures that will require the Route 724 school service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Buses travelling towards AGHS and SBHS in the AM will continue the normal route to Mairehau Rd, turn left on to Prestons Park Dr, take the second exit at the Georgina St roundabout, take the second exit at the Aviemore Dr roundabout, take the second exit at the Katrina St roundabout, turn right on to Prestons Rd, continue on to Burwood Rd, take the first exit at the Mairehau Rd roundabout, continue on Mairehau Rd to resume the normal route.

Buses travelling towards Queenspark in the PM will not be impacted by these changes.

From Monday 3rd March there will be road works on Hereford St that will require the Route 742 school service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Morning trips travelling towards City/Merivale Schools will follow the normal route along Hereford St, turn right on to Fitzgerald Ave, left on to Gloucester St, left on to Latimer Square West and right on to Hereford St to resume the normal route. 

Afternoon trips travelling towards McCormacks Bay will not be impacted by these works.

From Saturday 1st February there will be road works on Wairakei Rd that will require the Route 8 service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Buses travelling northbound towards the Airport will follow the normal route along Wairakei Rd, turn right on to Blighs Rd, veer left to stay on Blighs Rd, turn left on to Condell Rd, left on to Greers Rd, veer left to stay on Greers Rd and turn right on to Wairakei Rd to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling southbound towards Lyttelton will not be impacted by these works.
