From Sunday 8 September, a one-way closure will be in place on Riccarton Road, directly west of Hansons Lane that will require the Orbiter service to detour from its usual route for 2 nights from 9pm to 6am.

Clockwise trips will follow the normal route to Riccarton Road before turning left on to Hansons Lane, right on to Blenheim Road, right on to SH73 Curletts Road, continuing to Peer Street, and veering left on to Waimairi Road to resume the normal route.

Anticlockwise trips will follow the normal route to Waimairi Road before veering right on to Peer Street, turning left on to Yaldhurst Road, and continuing on to Riccarton Road to resume normal route.

From Saturday 7th September there will be railway upgrade works on Harewood Rd that will require the Orbiter service to detour from its usual route for 23 days. 

Buses travelling Anti-clockwise towards Burnside High will follow the normal route along Main North Rd before turning right on to Langdons Rd, left on to Chapel St and right on to Harewood Rd to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling Clockwise towards Northlands will follow the normal route along Harewood Rd before turning left on to Chapel St, right on to Langdons Rd and left on to Main North Rd to resume the normal route.

From Wednesday 7th August there will be road works on Waimairi Rd as part of Stage 1 of the Church Corner upgrades project that will require the Orbiter service to detour from its usual route from 9pm until last bus. 

Buses travelling Clockwise will follow the normal route along Riccarton Rd before veering right on to Yaldhurst Rd, turn right on to Peer St and veer left on to Waimairi Rd to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling Anti-clockwise will follow the normal route along Waimairi Rd before veering right on to Peer St, turn left on to Yaldhurst Rd and continue to resume the normal route.

From Thursday 25th July there will be road works on Innes Rd that will require the Orbiter Anti-clockwise service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Buses travelling Anti-clockwise will follow the normal route along Innes Rd before turning left on to Manuka St, right on to Westminster St, right on to Kensington Ave and left on to Innes Rd to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling Clockwise will not be impacted by this detour.

Westbound trips towards Hornby will follow the normal route to Riccarton Road before turning left on to Hansons Lane, right on to Blenheim Road, right on to SH73 Curletts Road, and left on to Main South Road to resume the normal route. 

Eastbound trips towards Westfield Riccarton will not be impacted by this detour.

From Monday 9th September 2024, there will be long-term road works on Creyke Road that will require the Route 130 service to detour from its usual route for about a year (until at least September 2025).   

Buses travelling westbound towards Hei Hei will follow the normal route along Maidstone Rd before turning left on to Ilam Rd, right on to Memorial Ave and left on to Kotare St to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling eastbound towards Avonhead will not be impacted by this detour.

From Monday 9th September 2024, there will be long-term road works in Ilam that will require the Route 100 service to detour from its usual route for about a year (until at least September 2025).   

Buses travelling westbound towards Wigram will follow the normal route along Riccarton Road and instead of turning right onto Clyde Road, buses will continue on Riccarton Road to resume normal route, avoiding Clyde Rd, Creyke Rd, and Ilam Rd. 

Buses travelling eastbound towards The Palms will follow the normal route along Riccarton Road and instead of turning left onto Ilam Road, buses will continue on Riccarton Road to resume normal route, avoiding Ilam Rd, Creyke Rd, and Clyde Rd.

From 7am on Monday 9 September there will be a full closure on Hereford Street for ongoing wastewater works relating to Te Kaha Stadium that will require the Route 742 School service to detour from its usual route for 4 days. 

The morning trip towards the city will follow the normal route to Hereford Street before turning right on to Fitzgerald Avenue, left on to Gloucester Street, left on to Latimer Square West, and right on to Hereford Street to resume the normal route. 

The afternoon trip towards McCormacks Bay will follow the normal route to Hereford Street before turning left on to Latimer Square East, right on to Gloucester Street, right on to Fitzgerald Avenue, and left on to Hereford Street to resume the normal route.

From 7am on Monday 9 September there will be a full closure on Hereford Street for ongoing wastewater works relating to Te Kaha Stadium that will require the Route 60 service to detour from its usual route for 4 days.

Buses travelling eastbound towards Southshore will follow the normal route to Hereford Street before turning left on to Latimer Square East, right on to Gloucester Street, right on to Fitzgerald Avenue, and left on to Hereford Street to resume the normal route.

Buses travelling westbound towards Hillmorton will follow the normal route to Hereford Street before turning right on to Fitzgerald Avenue, left on to Gloucester Street, left on to Latimer Square West, and right on to Hereford Street to resume the normal route.

From Monday 13th May there will be road works on Aidanfield Drive that will require the Route 60 service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Buses travelling westbound towards Hillmorton will follow the normal route along SH75/Halswell Rd before turning right on to Augustine Dr, left on to Euphrasie Dr and take the third exit at the roundabout on to Aidanfield Dr to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling eastbound towards Southshore will follow the normal route along Aidanfield Dr before taking the first exit at the roundabout on to Euphrasie Dr, right on to Augustine Dr and left on to SH75/Halswell Rd to resume the normal route.

Buses travelling northbound towards Redwood will follow the normal route along Harewood Rd before turning left on to Chapel St, right on to Langdons Rd and left on to Main North Rd to resume the normal route.

Buses travelling southbound towards Huntsbury will follow the normal route along Harewood Rd before turning left on to Chapel St, right on to Langdons Rd and left on to Main North Rd to resume the normal route.

Buses travelling southbound towards Spreydon will follow the normal route along Clyde Rd before turning right on to Creyke Rd, left on to Ilam Rd, left on to Riccarton Rd before continuing to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling northbound towards Burnside will not be impacted by this detour.

From Friday 16th August there will be road works on Blackett St that will require the Route 722 school service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Morning trips travelling towards Marian College will not be impacted by this detour. 

Afternoon trips travelling towards Rangiora will follow the normal route along High St before turning left on to Ivory St, right on to Queen St, take the second exit at the Victoria St roundabout, take the second exit at the Percival St roundabout, take the third exit at the King St roundabout, take the first exit at the High St roundabout and take the first exit at the Blackett St roundabout to resume the normal route.

From 1pm Friday 16th August there will be road works on Blackett St that will require the Route 97 service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Westbound trips towards Rangiora will follow the normal route along High St before turning left on to Ivory St, right on to Queen St, take the second exit at the Victoria St roundabout, take the second exit at the Percival St roundabout, take the third exit at the King St roundabout and take the first exit at the High St roundabout to resume the normal route. 

Eastbound trips towards Pegasus will not be impacted by this detour.

From Wednesday 7th August there will be road works on Langdons Rd that will require the 791 School service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Morning trips travelling towards Burnside High School will follow the normal route along Langdons Rd before turning left on to Chapel St, right on to Harewood Rd and left on to Greers Rd to resume the normal route. 

Afternoon trips travelling towards Te Korari St will follow the normal route along Greers Rd before turning right on to Harewood Rd, left on to Chapel St and right on to Langdons Rd to resume the normal route.

There will be several closed and temporary bus stops along Halswell Rd due to the road improvements currently underway and estimated to take two and a half years. These will impact Route 7 passengers as well as some other routes that use Halswell Rd.

Please take note of the signs installed by contractors at the closed stops, directing you to the nearest stop/temporarily placed stop.

Buses travelling southbound towards Westmorland will follow the normal route along Innes Rd before turning left on to Manuka St, right on to Westminster St before continuing on Westminster St to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling northbound towards Shirley will not be impacted by this detour.

From Monday 13th May there will be road works on Aidanfield Drive that will require the School Route 751 service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Morning trips travelling towards Hillmorton High School will follow the normal route along Aidanfield Dr before taking the first exit at the roundabout on to Euphrasie Dr, right on to Augustine Dr and left on to SH75/Halswell Rd to resume the normal route. 

Afternoon trips travelling towards Halswell will follow the normal route along SH75/Halswell Rd before turning right on to Augustine Dr, left on to Euphrasie Dr and take the third exit at the roundabout on to Aidanfield Dr to resume the normal route.
