All detours and updates

On Sunday 28th July there will be road works on Whiteleigh Ave that will require the Orbiter service to detour from its usual route between the hours of 8am to 11.30am. 

Buses travelling Clockwise will follow the normal route along Barrington St before turning right on to Lincoln Rd, left on to Moorhouse Ave, continue on Blenheim Rd and right on to Clarence St to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling Anti-clockwise will follow the normal route along Clarence St, left on to Blenheim Rd, continue on to Moorhouse Ave, right on to Lincoln Rd and left on to Barrington St to resume the normal route.

From Thursday 25th July there will be road works on Innes Rd that will require the Orbiter Anti-clockwise service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Buses travelling Anti-clockwise will follow the normal route along Innes Rd before turning left on to Manuka St, right on to Westminster St, right on to Kensington Ave and left on to Innes Rd to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling Clockwise will not be impacted by this detour.

[Updated 09/07/24] From Sunday 9th June there will be road works at the Marshland/Shirley intersection that will require the Orbiter service to detour from its usual route between the hours of 9pm – 7am Sunday-Thursday (detour will not be in place on Friday and Saturday nights). 

Anti-clockwise Orbiters will follow the normal route along North Parade, before turning left on to Averill Street, right on to Petrie Street, and left on to Shirley Road to resume the normal route.  

Clockwise Orbiters will not be impacted by these works.

Buses travelling eastbound towards Mt Pleasant will follow the normal route along Blenheim Rd before continuing on Blenheim Rd and turning left on to Matipo St to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling westbound towards Russley will follow the normal route along Matipo St before turning right on to Blenheim Rd and right on to Hansons Lane to resume the normal route.

From Sunday 28th July for 2 nights there will be road works on Memorial Ave that will require the Route 140 service to detour from its usual route between the hours of 9pm to 6am. 

Buses travelling westbound towards Russley will follow the normal route along Moorhouse Ave before turning left on to Lincoln Rd, right on to Whiteleigh Ave, right on to Blenheim Rd and left on to Mandeville St to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling eastbound towards Mt Pleasant will follow the normal route along Mandeville St before turning right on to Blenheim Rd, left on to Whiteleigh Ave, left on to Lincoln Rd and right on to Moorehouse Ave to resume the normal route.

From Saturday 27th July for 2 days there will be road works on Halswell Junction Rd that will require the Route 5 service to detour from its usual route between the hours of 6.30am to 7.30pm. 

Buses travelling eastbound towards New Brighton will follow the normal route along Waterloo before continuing along Waterloo Rd, turning right on to Parker St and left on to SH1/Main South Rd to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling westbound towards Rolleston will follow the normal route along SH1/Main South Rd before turning right on to Parker St, left on to Waterloo Rd and continuing on Waterloo Rd to resume the normal route.

From 6am Monday 13th May there will be road works on Banks St that will require the Route 5 service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Buses travelling eastbound towards New Brighton will follow the normal route along Railway Tce before turning right on to Kirk Rd and left on to Waterloo Rd to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling westbound towards Rolleston will follow the normal route along Waterloo Rd before turning right on to Kirk Rd and left on to Railway Tce to resume the normal route.

From Thursday 25th July there will be road works on Innes Rd that will require the Route 44 service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Buses travelling southbound towards Westmorland will follow the normal route along Innes Rd before turning left on to Manuka St, right on to Westminster St before continuing on Westminster St to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling northbound towards Shirley will not be impacted by this detour.

From Monday 22nd July for 13 days there will be road works on Clyde Rd that will require the Route 120 service to detour from its usual route between the hours of 7am to 6pm. 

Buses travelling northbound towards Burnside will follow the normal route along Clyde Rd before turning right on to Aorangi Rd, left on to Wairakei Rd and left on to Greers Rd to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling southbound towards Spreydon will not be impacted by this detour.

From Monday 1st July there will be watermain upgrade works on King St, Rangiora that will require the Route 722 school service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Morning trips travelling towards Marian College will follow the normal route along Blackett St before turning right on to Church St, left on to High St, take the third exit at the roundabout on to King St, take the first exit at the next roundabout on to Queen St, take the second exit at the next roundabout on to Percival St, take the second exit at the next roundabout on to Victoria St, turn left on to Ivory St and right on to High St to resume the normal route.  

Afternoon trips travelling towards Rangiora will follow the normal route along High St before turning left on to Ivory St, right on to Queen St, take the second exit at the roundabout on to Victoria St, take the second exit at the next roundabout on to Percival St, take the third exit at the next roundabout on to King St, take the first exit at the next roundabout on to High St, turn right on to Church St and left on to Blackett St to resume the normal route.

From Monday 1st July there will be watermain upgrade works on King St, Rangiora that will require the Route 97 service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Buses travelling westbound towards Rangiora will follow the normal route along High St before turning left on to Ivory St, right on to Queen St, take the second exit at the roundabout on to Victoria St, take the second exit at the next roundabout on to Percival St, take the third exit at the roundabout on to King St and take the first exit at the next roundabout on to High St to resume the normal route.  

Buses travelling westbound towards Rangiora will follow the normal route along High St before taking the third exit at the roundabout on to King St, take the first exit at the next roundabout on to Queen St, take the second exit at the roundabout on to Percival St, take the second exit at the next roundabout on to Victoria St, turn left on to Ivory St and right on to High St to resume the normal route.

From Monday 1st July there will be watermain upgrade works on King St, Rangiora that will require the Route 91 service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Buses travelling northbound towards Rangiora will follow the normal route to White St before turning right on to Seddon St and left on to King St resume the normal route.  

Buses travelling southbound towards City will follow the normal route along King St before turning right on to Seddon St, left on to White St before continuing to resume the normal route.

From Tuesday 20th February there will be road works on Manchester St that will require the Route 91 service to detour from its usual route until further notice.

Buses travelling northbound towards Rangiora will follow the normal route to Manchester St before turning right on to Salisbury St and left on to Madras St to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling southbound towards the City will follow the normal route to Cranford St before turning left on to Warrington St, right on to Barbadoes St, right on to Bealey Ave and left on to Manchester St to resume the normal route.

From Monday 1st July there will be watermain upgrade works on King St, Rangiora that will require the Route 1 service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Buses travelling northbound towards Rangiora will follow the normal route to White St before turning right on to Seddon St and left on to King St resume the normal route.  

Buses travelling southbound towards Cashmere/PMH will follow the normal route along King St before turning right on to Seddon St, left on to White St before continuing to resume the normal route.

[Updated 09/07/24] From Sunday 9th June there will be road works at the Marshland/Shirley intersection that will require Route 60 service to detour from its usual route between the hours of 9pm – 7am Sunday - Thursday (detour will not be in place Friday and Saturday nights). 

Buses travelling eastbound towards Southshore will follow the normal route to North Parade, before turning left on to Averill Street, right on to Petrie Street, right on to Shirley Road, and left on to Marshland Road to resume the normal route. 

Westbound services towards Hillmorton will not be impacted by these works.

From Monday 13th May there will be road works on Aidanfield Drive that will require the Route 60 service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Buses travelling westbound towards Hillmorton will follow the normal route along SH75/Halswell Rd before turning right on to Augustine Dr, left on to Euphrasie Dr and take the third exit at the roundabout on to Aidanfield Dr to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling eastbound towards Southshore will follow the normal route along Aidanfield Dr before taking the first exit at the roundabout on to Euphrasie Dr, right on to Augustine Dr and left on to SH75/Halswell Rd to resume the normal route.

From Monday 13th May there will be road works on Banks St that will require the Route 671 & 673 school services to detour from their usual route until further notice. 

Morning trips travelling towards Upper Riccarton will follow the normal route along Railway Tce before turning right on to Kirk Rd and left on to Waterloo Rd to resume the normal route. 

Afternoon trips travelling towards Rolleston & Burnham will follow the normal route along Waterloo Rd before turning right on to Kirk Rd and left on to Railway Tce to resume the normal route.

From Monday 13th May there will be road works on Aidanfield Drive that will require the School Route 751 service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Morning trips travelling towards Hillmorton High School will follow the normal route along Aidanfield Dr before taking the first exit at the roundabout on to Euphrasie Dr, right on to Augustine Dr and left on to SH75/Halswell Rd to resume the normal route. 

Afternoon trips travelling towards Halswell will follow the normal route along SH75/Halswell Rd before turning right on to Augustine Dr, left on to Euphrasie Dr and take the third exit at the roundabout on to Aidanfield Dr to resume the normal route.

From Tuesday 20th February there will be road works on Manchester St that will require the Route 92 service to detour from its usual route until further notice.

Buses travelling northbound towards Kaiapoi will follow the normal route to Manchester St before turning right on to Salisbury St and left on to Madras St to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling southbound towards the City will follow the normal route to Cranford St before turning left on to Warrington St, right on to Barbadoes St, right on to Bealey Ave and left on to Manchester St to resume the normal route.
