Getting to Parakiore

Whether you’re heading to the gym, taking the kids for a swim, or attending an event, getting to Parakiore by bus is easy and hassle-free. With Metro bus stops just a short walk away and great connections across Christchurch, public transport is a convenient alternative to driving and parking.
Closest bus stops
There are several Metro bus stops located within a few minutes' walk of Parakiore. The most highly frequented is the Hospital Main Stop, just 3 mins' walk away. It’s one stop from the Bus Interchange, making it easy to connect to suburbs across Christchurch.

- Timetables - if you prefer a full timetable view. Paper versions are also available at the Bus Interchange and other key Christchurch hubs
For added convenience, there is a Metro real-time information screen inside Parakiore, located to the right of reception. This screen shows live bus arrival times for the Christchurch Hospital Main Stop, making it easy to time your journey home.
You can also check real-time arrivals for any stop across the Metro network using Metro’s Next Bus tool, part of MetroGo.
Choosing your way to pay
New! Contactless payments now onboard. Just tap your debit or credit card and go. No set up needed. This makes Metro especially easy for casual trips, first-time users and people paying just for themselves. Regular users can use Metrocard and we also accept cash payments to the driver.
