Detour for Kirk Rd road works (from 25/04/2026 until 25/04/2026)
On Saturday 25th April for 1 day there will be road works on Kirk Rd that will require the Route 5 service to detour from its usual route until further notice.
Buses travelling westbound towards Rolleston will follow the normal route to Waterloo Rd, turn right on Kirk Rd, and turn left on Railway Tce to resume the normal route.
Buses travelling eastbound towards New Brighton will not be impacted.

Detour for Railway Tce road works (from 22/04/2026 until 25/04/2026)
On Wednesday 22nd April for 3 days there will be road works on Railway Tce that will require the Route 5 service to detour from its usual route.
Buses travelling westbound towards Rolleston will follow the normal route to Banks St, turn right on Kirk Rd, turn left on Maddisons Rd, turn left on Dawsons Rd, take the 2nd exit at the Dawsons Rd roundabout, onto Jones Rd to resume the normal route.
Buses travelling eastbound towards New Brighton will follow the normal route to Jones Rd, take the 2nd exit at the Dawsons Rd roundabout, onto Dawsons Rd, turn right on Maddisons Rd, turn right on Kirk Rd, and turn left on Banks St to resume the normal route.

Detour for Te Kaha Stadium Events road closures (from 24/04/2026 until 24/04/2026)
On Friday 24th April there will be road closures in the city for the Te Kaha stadium events that will require the Route 5 service to detour from its usual route between the hours of 8:30pm to midnight. Please be aware that delays may occur due to traffic in the area.
Buses travelling northbound towards the Gloucester St will have no detour required, but will follow instructions at closure points on Manchester St. Please note that buses will not be servicing the Manchester SuperStops while events are on. All pick-ups/drop-offs will happen at the Interchange.
Buses travelling southbound towards the Bus Interchange will have no detour required, but will follow instructions at closure points on Manchester St. Please note that buses will not be servicing the Manchester SuperStops while events are on. All pick-ups/drop-offs will happen at the Interchange.

On Saturday 25th April there will be road closures on Banks St that will require the Route 5 service to detour from its usual route between the hours of 10am to 12:00pm
Buses travelling westbound towards Rolleston will follow the normal route to Waterloo Rd, turn right on Kirk Rd, and turn left on Railway Tce to resume the normal route.
Buses travelling eastbound towards the City will follow the normal route to Railway Tce, turn right on Kirk Rd, and turn left on Waterloo Rd to resume the normal route.

On Sunday 26th April for 6 days there will be road works on Railway Tce that will require the Route 5 service to detour from its usual route.
