A new way to get to major events
Event Direct by Metro is a new pre-booked shuttle bus service designed to help customers travel to and from major events at One New Zealand Stadium at Te Kaha.
The service provides direct, non-stop transport between selected hubs and the stadium, offering eventgoers the certainty and reliability of pre-booked travel for major events.
How Event Direct works

Bookings opening soon
The booking system is set to be live by early April, letting customers pre-book ahead of the stadium’s opening events. Details on pickup hubs, departure times, and booking process will be published here once bookings go live.
Pricing
Event Direct uses simple, upfront pricing so you know exactly what you’re paying. A 20% early bird discount will be on offer, with cut-off times varying depending on when shuttle spaces become available for each event.

Things to know:
- Fares are per person, per trip
- A return journey is charged as two trips
- Tickets are a standard price across ages and concessions are not available
- Children under two can ride for free on the lap of their caregiver, and prams must be folded up for the shuttle journey.
- Early bird cut-off times will vary depending on when shuttle spaces become available for each event.
- Event Direct services operate with both seated and standing capacity. While your booking guarantees travel, a seat is not guaranteed.
- All Event Direct tickets must be booked online in advance
Important information
Regular Metro services will operate as scheduled on event days, without additional capacity added. As these services continue to support everyday travel across the city, customers attending major events are encouraged to consider pre-booking their space on the event shuttle for a direct and guaranteed journey.
