Watching Crusaders v Blues? Beat the traffic – book Event Direct!
Take the fast lane to this Friday’s Crusaders v Blues match at One New Zealand Stadium at Te Kaha.
Event Direct by Metro is a pre-booked shuttle service that picks customers up from 11 different locations around Christchurch, taking them directly to Latimer Square and Ara – a short walk from the stadium.
Event Direct enjoyed a successful launch at Super Round over 24-26 April 2026. 6.5% of eventgoers used Metro transport over the weekend. Of those who used Event Direct and gave feedback, 95% were satisfied or very satisfied with the service.
Those attending this weekend’s Crusaders v Blues match are encouraged to book a space on the service now - the earlier the better, get in while there are still spaces and take the stress out of the journey.
Prices are $6.25 per person each way and $12.50 return.
For the 8 May 2026 Crusaders v Blues match, the 11 shuttle pick-up and drop-off locations will be:
- Parklands - Queenspark Drive
- The Palms
- Northwood - Supa Centa
- Papanui – Northlands
- Burnside Park – Memorial Avenue
- Fendalton – Memorial Avenue
- The Hub Hornby
- Halswell shops
- Lincoln Road – Parade Court
- Sumner Village – Wakefield Avenue
- Ferrymead shops
Those travelling on the normal Metro buses should plan ahead for Friday evening and allow extra time. We expect these routes to face delays due to road closures and traffic in the city ahead and after the match. If you’re going to the game, Event Direct can provide you with a direct ride in and out of the city – allowing you to beat the queues. These delays will have an impact on almost the entire network.
The Metro network will operate to normal timetables. Routes servicing the Bus Interchange may experience high demand, particularly after the rugby.
