Taking the bus is a conscientious and cost-effective way to get around town.
The cheapest way for customers to travel with Metro is by using contactless payments, a Motu Move card or a Metrocard.
Metrocard and cash are still available but will be retired from 23 November. Find out more about upcoming changes.
Concessions are available for children aged 5-18 years, youth aged 19-25 years, SuperGold, Community Services Card, and Total Mobility card holders.

- Children aged 0-4 years
- SuperGold cardholders (after 9am weekdays and all-day weekends/public holidays)
- Companions of Total Mobility card holders
Metrocard and Motu Move fare caps
You will never pay for more than 2 trips in a day, or 10 trips in a week (from Monday to Sunday) when you use Motu Move payment methods, or your Metrocard. Make sure you tag on with the same card or digital wallet each time to get the best fares.

Accessing Motu Move concession fares
Travel concessions are available with a Motu Move contactless payment and Motu Move cards for the following groups. Click on the links to find out more.

Some customers will have the option to choose between more than one concession. With Motu Move, it will automatically apply the concession that gives you the best fare.
